On March 22, 2022, TAMC and the project team presented a FORTAG update to the City of Del Rey Oaks City Council. The presentation reviewed nine key improvements based on feedback received from the public workshop, focus groups, stakeholders, and other community members. |

SR-218 Undercrossing Visuals



IMPROVING CARLTON DRIVE
Improving Carlton Drive at SR 218 and Work Avenue (Pictured below):
-Narrowing the intersection to slightly slow vehicles to make it safer for bicycles and pedestrians
-Adding in accessible curb ramps and crosswalks across both Carlton Drive and SR 218
-Adding flashing beacons to the SR 218 crossing
-Separating pedestrians from the roadway using vegetation
-Combining the right turn and left turn lanes into one lane from Work Avenue to Carlton Drive
-Using the former right turn lane on Work Avenue to create an accessible pedestrian access space with new landscaping
-Enhanced bicycle and pedestrian markings across the intersection
Improving Carlton Drive from SR 218 to Plumas Avenue (Not pictured):
- Removing the asphalt bumpers on the east side of the roadway
-Narrowing the roadway, adding the trail, and shifting the travel lanes to the east to slow traffic and protect as many trees as possible
-Adding pocket of parking on the west side (maintaining parking on the east side)

RESURFACED TENNIS COURTS
-The existing cracks and bumpy surface will be replaced with a new, smooth surface
-New layout for tennis courts and pickleball courts
